The North Greenville Crusaders dropped a heartbreaker to the Barton Bulldogs this afternoon in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship in Mount Olive, North Carolina with a final score of 9-8. North Greenville proved to be dominant offensively in the first half, scoring five of the six goals in the first half. NGU would also score the first goal of the second half, but from there Barton would fight back by scoring seven of the next eight goals to take an 8-7 lead with just over six minutes remaining.
Alex Brooks would tie the game back up with a goal to make the score 8-8 with 4:46 remaining. However, Barton would score the game-winning goal with less than a minute remaining. Barton would win the final faceoff and run off the remaining time to hang on for the Conference Carolinas Championship. NGU finishes the season with a 10-7 overall record.
