The North Greenville Crusaders were able to hang on to beat the Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia with a final score of 15-8 in Dahlonega, Georgia. After three scoreless innings to begin the game, NGU would get on the board with two runs in the fourth, and after the Nighthawks responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, the Crusaders would then pull away with four runs in the fifth including
David Lewis' first home run of the day and two more runs in the sixth including the second home run by Lewis. From there, the two teams would have two more big innings as NGU scored three runs in the seventh and four runs in the ninth including home runs by
David Lewis and
Pat Monteith while North Georgia scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and three more in the bottom of the eighth.
Caleb Cox took the win on the mound as the starter, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing just one run.
