The North Greenville Crusaders fell just short of completing a double-digit comeback in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, falling to the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive with a final score of 72-69 in Mount Olive, North Carolina. After falling behind by double digits in the first quarter, NGU tied the Trojans with nineteen second quarter points to trail by eleven going into hafltime. The Crusaders were able to get back within striking distance in the third quarter as six field goals as well as six free throws put NGU back within one point. An early layup to start off the fourth quarter put the Crusaders up by one. Mount Olive would take over by scoring the next twelve points to lead by eleven. However, North Greenville would then take back the momentum, eventually cutting the deficit back down to one. After two free throws to give the Trojans a three point lead, NGU would put up a last second shot, but would not convert, ending the 2022-23 season.
