NGU Dominant Over Barton to Begin Opening Conference Series

Tigerville, SC - North Greenville began its first conference series of the season with a one-sided 19-3 victory over the Bulldogs of Barton College on a windy day at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. The Crusaders finished the day with four home runs and seven extra base hits. After a scoreless first inning, NGU was able to get on the scoreboard with two two-RBI singles to go up 4-0. Barton responded in the top of the third, but from there North Greenville would score a total of fifteen straight runs with two in the third, two in the fourth, five in the seventh, and six in the eighth. The Bulldogs would put the scoreless drought to the end in the ninth with two runs, but Cooper Sain would eventually record the final out to seal the win for NGU. Noah Takac, who started the game and was limited to 3.0 innings, was the winning pitcher.
