Tigerville – Thursday marked the first match of 2023 for women's tennis with a 7 – 0 loss to undefeated Newberry.
Dora Kos and
Martina Cairus fell 6 – 2 in doubles play while
Naomi Sakakibara and
Hannah Hill dropped their tandem match 6 – 1. The Wolves swept the doubles portion with a 6 – 0 win over
Ashlen Chapman and
Riley Gunter.
In singles,
Dora Kos battled but fell 2 – 6, 5 – 7 while Hill lost 1 – 6, 0 – 6. In the third position
Ashlen Chapman lost 3 – 6, 1 – 6.
Naomi Sakakibara dropped a 2 – 6, 1 – 6 match in the four spot.
Martina Cairus lost 1 – 6, 2 – 6 while
Megan Turner fell 0 – 6, 1 – 6.
