Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders came from behind to sweep the Braves of UNC Pembroke this afternoon at
Jan McDonald Field. NGU fell behind early in game one but after scoring three runs in the 3rd, a five run 5th inning would be enough to comfortable win the opening game with a final score of 8-4.
Bailey Pace continued her hot streak on the mound by pitching a complete game and earning the win. The Crusaders took an early lead with a run in the 1st when
Claire Gilmore hit a solo shot to center field. Tied 1-1, UNCP would take the lead with two runs in the 4th and would continue to pull away over the next three innings to make the score 7-2. Facing two outs with nobody on base in the bottom of the 7th, seven straight Crusaders would get on base.
Claire Gilmore would get NGU within a run, hitting a grand slam to make the score 7-6. After two walks,
Josie Reed would end the day with a walk-off three run home run to left field, completing the sweep with a final score of 8-7.
Wynter Radcliffe was the winning pitcher.
