A productive week by
Marek Chlup has earned him the honor of being named the baseball Conference Carolinas as well as the National College Baseball Writers Association Player of the Week, the conference announced earlier today. For the week, Marek was key in a one-sided victory against Lander as well as two wins against UNC Pembroke, posting a .625 batting average with a .684 on-base percentage and a 1.375 slugging percentage. He recorded a total of ten runs, six RBIs, three home runs, a triple, and a double. Chlup is the third Crusader to earn the award as
John Michael Faile earned the away in Week 5 and Week 8 and
Cory Bivins earned the honor in Week 4.
NGU will return to action tomorrow in Bluefield, West Virginia to take on the Greyhounds of Bluefield State College.
