The North Greenville Crusaders nearly achieved a stunner but came up short in the Conference Carolinas Tournament semifinals against the #2 seed Trojans of the University of Mount Olive with a final score of 12-9 in Wilson, North Carolina.
Cam Webb scored the opening goal of the game to give NGU an early lead, but UMO would dominate the remainder of the half, scoring seven straight goals to lead 7-1 at halftime. After each team put up a goal to begin the 3rd quarter, the Crusaders would go on a run, scoring five consecutive goals to pull back within one goal. The Trojans would stop the run with a goal, but NGU would continue to carry the momentum by scoring two straight goals to tie things up at 9-9 with less than seven minutes remaining. Momentum would come to an abrupt stop for the Crusaders, however, as the Trojans would go on to score the final three goals to ultimately win by three, ending the season for NGU. North Greenville finished with a 9-9 overall record.
