Tigerville – North Greenville softball earned its first sweep of the on Saturday with 12-3 and 2-0 decisions over Carolina, on Saturday afternoon.
Game One
A 2-2 game turned in favor of NGU in the third inning when the Crusaders plated four runs.
Josie Reed singled in a run for the Crusaders while
Grayce Black's RBI single plated a pair of runs to make it 5-2.
The Crusaders tacked on another in the fourth inning to answer a one run top of the inning from the Bruins.
Kinslee Hughes and
Lexis Wilkinson accounted for a pair of RBI base knocks in the fifth while
Kamryn Walker was credied with a pair of RBI in the sixth inning to cap a three-run frame to end the game an inning early.
Game Two
North Greenville leaned on
Hailey Wells in game two. Wells held the Bruins scoreless in a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits in the process. Wells struck out three batters but left six Carolina runners on the basepath.
The Crusaders delieverd the only runs of the game in the third inning when
Jenna Hewes doubled to left center. The hit scored
Brianna McRae and Clair Gilmore. Hewes finished the day with a pair of hits and four RBI.
With the wins, NGU improved to 3-9 on the season.
