North Greenville started off the 2022-23 women's basketball season with a tough loss to the Indians of Catawba College with a final score of 102-48 in Salisbury, North Carolina. NGU was in a hole early as the Indians would jump out to a 27-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Then, the Crusaders would be unable to post a made field goal in the 2nd quarter, and only scoring three points as Catawba would score 24 points to take a 51-11 lead into halftime. The North Greenville offense would improve substantially in the second half, more than doubling their points in the third quarter and posting a 58.33 field goal percentage for the quarter. Things would slow down slightly in the fourth quarter, but the Crusaders would still score twenty points in the final quarter to raise their final field goal percentage to 35.29%. Turnovers were costly for NGU as 36 turnovers would turn into 57 points off turnovers for the Indians.
