Box Score Tigerville – North Greenville's offense was held scoreless in the second half as Delta State earned a 47 – 14 win over the Crusaders in Gulf South action.
North Greenville took a 7 – 0 lead in the first half when
Dylan Ramirez hit
Darius Young from 80 – yards out in the first quarter. North Greenville's defense kept the high scoring Statesman in check, forcing a pair of punts and picking off a Shegog pass. It was the first time this season Delta State's offense was held scoreless in the first quarter.
The Statesman quickly erased NGU's lead in the second quarter scoring to make it 7 – 7 with 14:22 left in the half. The TD was part of 21 – unanswered points as DSU took a 21 – 7 lead. One of the three touchdowns scored in the second quarter was a defensive score as Malik Jones returned a Ramirez interception 99 – yards for a score.
The Johnson interception happened as NGU was inside the Delta State 10 – yard line. It was one of two North Greenville turnovers inside the opponent 10.
The Crusaders responded to the defensive score with their second touchdown drive of the day. NGU engineered a 75 – yard drive on just four plays to cut the lead to seven. Ramirez found
Demetris McKelvey from 10 – yards out for the score.
NGU's defense would provide one more opportunity in the first half to even the score.
Ethan Alexander picked off a Shegog pass with less than two minutes left before halftime, giving the offense the ball on the plus side of the 50. The ensuing drive came up empty with the second interception of the quarter by Delta State.
North Greenville's defense kept the Crusaders in contention for much of the second half. Delta State scored 12 – points in the second quarter, two of which came on a safety. In all, NGU turned the ball over four times, all of which were interceptions. DSU tacked on a 14 – point fourth quarter to secure the victory.

- Shane Monsanto and Ethan Alexander each had an interception for NGU. It was the first of the season for both and the first career pick for Monsanto.
- Dantevian Byrd led NGU with nine tackles and also had a pair of hurries and a pass break-up.
- De'Iveon Donald finished with seven tackles and a sack. Fred Billy had eight tackles. Justin Rouse and Jaxon Giles also had a sack.
- Corey Watkins led all rushers with 125 – yards on the ground.
- Darius Young had a career day with 159 – yards receiving and a score. He caught six passes.
- Demetris McKelvey also had a career day with 102 – yards on five receptions. He scored his second touchdown of the season.
- Dylan Ramirez finished with 290 – yards and two touchdowns. He threw three interceptions.
