The North Greenville Crusaders dropped their third match of the young season with a 3-1 defeat to the Patriots of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. George Mason took the opening set with a score of 25-20 by leading in kills 14-8 and also posting three service aces. North Greenville then recovered in the second set, limiting themselves to just two attack errors and providing four blocks to take it 25-21. Set three came down to the wire and proved to be evenly played by both teams, but the Patriots would hang on to win it 25-23. Facing set point in set four, the Crusaders recovered to force extra points, but George Mason would put up the final kill to take the final set 26-24.
