Recap
  • Ethan Garner took the mound for his final start as a Crusader, but would only last 1.2 innings as the Cougars scored five runs in the 2nd including a two-run home run and a two-RBI double. The Crusaders would respond by getting on the board off of a throwing error by CSU. NGU would even things up in the 3rd with four runs including a three-run home run by Brady West. Columbus State would slowly build up a three-run lead, scoring a run in three consecutive innings. The bats went silent for the Crusaders, but that would finally come to an end in the 8th when NGU came through with three RBI singles to even up the score once again. However, the tie would be short-lived as the Cougars quickly took the lead back with two runs scored in the top of the 9th. Brady West did his part by hitting a solo shot to get NGU back within a run in the bottom of the 9th, but CSU would record three outs in a row to end North Greenville's 2021 season.
