North Greenville Wins Big Against Southern Wesleyan to Advance to Conference Semifinals

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a dominating 2nd half to defeat the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a final score of 16-4 at Pepsi Stadium to advanced to the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. SWU was able to put a scare into NGU early on, but the Crusaders would dominate from there to win by a more than comfortable margin. Rachel Kellogg scored seven goals against the Warriors for the second time this season.

Recap
  • The match began with Southern Wesleyan carrying the momentum, scoring the first two goals of the match. Olivia Foltz would put NGU on the board, but the Warriors would follow with another goal to lead 3-1. NGU would then score four unanswered goals throughout the remainder of the 1st half. 
  • NGU would continue to pull away in the 2nd half, scoring the first five goals with three of them by Rachel Kellogg. The Warriors would stop the run with one more goal, but North Greenville would continue to score, posting the final six goals of the match. Kellogg would score three of them to match her season-best performance.

  • Rachel Kellogg posted 7 goals and 12 total shots with all of them on goal. She also scored 7 against SWU in the regular season.
  • Olivia Foltz scored 3 goals and provided an assist and 7 draw controls.
