Box Score NGU women's basketball wrapped up its 2020-21 season with an 81-52 defeat to the King Tornado in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Quarterfinals in Bristol, Tennessee. The Crusaders fell behind in the first half but was able to maintain a manageable deficit. However, a struggle of a 3rd quarter for NGU ended any hopes of a comeback as the Tornado would capitalize and pull away for good. Haylee Luttrell, Savannah Hughes, and Tolisha Walker scored nine point each.

Recap

• The game would start off on a rough note for NGU as the Tornado were able to jump out to an early 11-0 lead. Savannah Hughes was able to get the Crusaders on the board by with a jumper. The teams would exchange points for the remainder of the quarter, but North Greenville would score the final four points to trail by just six.
• King would get off to another good start to the 2nd quarter with a 6-2 run, but NGU would respond by scoring nine in a row to cut the deficit to one point. The Tornado would shoot well for the remainder of the half, opening a double digit lead back up and leading by thirteen at halftime.
• After seven straight points by King to begin the 3rd quarter, North Greenville would score four straight points by way of free throws. From there, the Tornado would dominate the remainder of the quarter, taking a 26 point lead.
• A fairly even 4th quarter saw the North Greenville deficit neither increase nor decrease. The Crusaders would improve from the third quarter, but would ultimately fall by 29 points.

Individual

• Tolisha Walker scored 9 points with 4 rebounds. 
• Haylee Luttrell also recorded 9 points and also an assist and a block.
• Savannah Hughes finished her senior season with 9 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
