Women's Basketball Enters Conference Tournament With First Winning Record Since 2011-12

NGU women's basketball will head to the quarterfinals of the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Tournament with the program's first regular season winning record since the 2011-12 season. Starting the season with two wins, a first since the 2008-09 season, North Greenville finished the regular season with an 8-7 overall and conference record, and enters the Conference Carolinas as the #5 seed out of 8 teams.

The Crusaders will face the Tornado of King University in Bristol, Tennessee on Tuesday, March 2nd to begin their tournament. King finished their regular season with a 9-6 overall record and an 8-6 conference record. The two programs have face each other twice this season. A closely-contested matchup in Tigerville resulted in a three point victory for the Tornado. NGU outscored King in the first three quarters and led by as much as 23 late in the 3rd quarter, but a ferocious comeback by the Tornado in the 4th was just enough for King to complete the comeback victory with a final score of 65-62. The second matchup in Bristol, North Greenville's third game in a five day span, saw King pull away with big 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Crusaders did outscore the Tornado in the 4th, but the end result would be a 71-53 win for King.

Tuesday's game is schedule for a 5:00 PM tipoff. Visiting fans are not permitted to the game, but you can follow the action on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network. Live statistics will also be available.
