North Greenville completed the four-game sweep of the Emmanuel Lions with final scores of 4-0 and 5-4 this afternoon in Franklin Springs, Georgia. The Crusaders collected a total of 18 hits for the day while giving up just 7. Zach Taglieri pitched a 2-hit shutout while Ethan Stringer and John Michael Faile recorded 3 hits each.

Recap

• John Michael Faile would quickly get the Crusaders on the board in game one with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 1st. The Crusaders would add two additional runs in the top of the 3rd when Josh Senter came through with an RBI sacrifice bunt and Pat Monteith hit an RBI single to center field. Zach Taglieri would take a no-hitter through 5.2 innings, but a single would end the bid. An RBI double by Gehrig Octavio in the top of the 7th would get NGU its fourth run. Emmanuel would get two runners on in the bottom of the 7th by way of a walk and a single, but Taglieri would complete the shutout by striking out the final batter to get the win.
• Ethan Garner took the mound to begin game two. Brady West would homer in the top of the 2nd to put North Greenville on the board first. John Michael Faile put a second run on the board with an RBI groundout in the top of the 3rd, and Doug Angeli would hit an RBI single to left field in the top of the 4th. The Lions responded in the bottom of the 4th with a two-run home run and would take the lead in the bottom of the 6th by way of two RBI singles. John Michael Faile would tie things up again with a solo shot to right field in the top of the 8th. Jordan Holladay would follow that up with a home run of his own in the top of the 9th. Tristen Hudson entered the game as the closer, and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to earn the save.

Individual

• Zach Taglieri pitched a complete game shutout. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8.
• Ethan Stringer went 3 for 6 for the day and also walked.
• John Michael Faile recorded 3 hits and 3 RBIs.
