North Greenville football commit Javarius Youmans received the first annual Bridge Builder Award of Excellence, the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame announced last week. Youmans is a defensive end from Allendale-Fairfax High School in Fairfax, South Carolina. There, he was president of the Allendale-Fairfax Honor Society, a National Beta Club Member, and was top-10 in his class. The award takes both athletic and academic achievements into consideration. He achieved a 3.7+ GPA in the classroom. He will major in Computer Engineering at North Greenville.
On the field, Javarius was a First-Team All-Conference and All-Region nod and was named the Region-Five Linebacker of the Year and the Team Defensive Player of the year. He finished with 110-tackles including 63-solo stops with nine-sacks, one forced fumble, two recoveries, and an interception returned for a touchdown. Youmans also played in the Georgia vs. South Carolina Border Bowl All-Star Game.
