Okeke posts career high but NGU falls to King

Tigerville – North Greenville battled but the Tornado shot 52-percent from the field, resulting in an 85-71 win over the Crusaders to round out the regular season.

King powered past the Crusaders with a big first quarter, claiming a 14-point edge after the first 10-minutes of play. North Greenville rallied with a pair of strong middle frames but were unable overcome the big first quarter from King which answered each time NGU claimed any sort of momentum.

North Greenville’s best showing of the night came in the fourth frame when the Crusaders outscored the Tornado by six points. North Greenville was solid on the offensive side of the court, shooting 44-percent from the field and was three of six from three point range. The Crusaders out-rebounded the Tornado by three.

North Greenville got a career night out of Peace Okeke who finished with 32-points and 14-rebounds for another double-double. Karen Donehew and Savannah Hughes both had 10-points in the Tuesday night effort.

North Greenville will turn its attention to the post season, heading into the Conference Carolinas tournament as the seventh seed.
