Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders evened their conference record with a 72-67 victory over the Converse Valkyries in Spartanburg, South Carolina. NGU outscored the Valkyries in the second and fourth quarters. Karen Donehew led the way with 18 points.
1st Quarter
Converse jumped out to an 8-3 lead early, but North Greenville responded with an 8-0 run to take an 11-8 lead. The Valkyries would end the quarter with an 8-2 run to lead 16-13.
2nd Quarter
The two teams traded the lead several times in the first two minutes of the quarter. Both teams would then go over three minutes without a point. That drought came to an end when Karen Donehew hit a three-pointer to give the Crusaders a 22-20 lead. The half would end with a score of 27-25 in favor of North Greenville. NGU shot 36.7% for the half with Donehew leading in points with eleven.
3rd Quarter
North Greenville scored first in the second half with a three-pointer by Donehew. However, the Valkyries then went on a 15-2 run to take a 40-32 lead. Late in the quarter, Haylee Luttrell would score the final five points by way of free throws to make the score 46-45 in favor of Converse.
4th Quarter
NGU was able to tie the game at 51-51 early in the quarter. With just over five minutes remaining, the Crusaders took the lead 57-55 and would not give it back up. Converse kept the score close, but NGU would ultimately win by five points. North Greenville improved in the second half with a 46.9 shot percentage. Journey Muhammed led in the second half with 12 points.
Individual
Karen Donehew had a strong overall performance with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Haylee Luttrell posted 13 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist.
Savannah Hughes recorded 12 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
