North Greenville Falls to King

Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville Trailblazers were unable to overcome a pair of first-half goals Wednesday night, falling to the Tornado of King University 2-0 at Pepsi Stadium. North Greenville fell to 3-6-1 overall and 3-2-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while King improved to 1-8-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the conference.

The Trailblazers generated a pair of early opportunities, with Alec Myers and Zac Zborovsky each attempting shots during the opening 10 minutes. Leo Prosdocimo made three saves at the other end during the opening 17 minutes to keep the match scoreless.

King eventually broke through at 19:14. Jacob Pope set up Simeon Adair, who scored his first goal of the season to put the Tornado ahead 1-0. The Tornado doubled their advantage late in the opening half. Harrison Reynolds assisted Cian McGoey at 38:00, with McGoey scoring his second goal of the season to give the Tornado a 2-0 lead. King carried that advantage into halftime after finishing the opening 45 minutes with an 8-4 edge in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

North Greenville controlled the majority of the attacking opportunities after halftime. The Trailblazers recorded seven second-half shots while holding King to just one attempt over the final 45 minutes. Despite the increased pressure, North Greenville was unable to put a second-half attempt on goal. King protected its two-goal advantage throughout the period to secure the 2-0 victory.

Brennen Lamont led the Trailblazers with three shots, while Nedas Vaivada recorded two attempts. Myers, Zborovsky, Pablo Valverde, Ezra Hoffman, Eduardo Muller Morschel and Emmanuel Orihuela each added one shot. Hoffman recorded North Greenville's lone shot on goal during the match.

Prosdocimo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Trailblazers, making three saves while allowing two goals.

North Greenville will return to action on Saturday, October 3rd against the Converse Valkyries in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
