Jesse Zborovsky Scores as Trailblazers End Afternoon with Draw Against Converse

Jesse Zborovsky scored the equalizer in the 60th minute and goalkeeper Leo Prosdocimo recorded six saves as the North Greenville Trailblazers battled the Valkyries of Converse University to a 1-1 draw Saturday in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

North Greenville moved to 3-6-2 overall and 3-2-2 in conference play, while Converse moved to 5-2-4 overall and 3-1-3 in the conference.

The Trailblazers posted the first shot of the match when Brennen Lamont shot wide in the third minute. Converse began creating pressure shortly afterward, forcing Prosdocimo into his first save at 8:37.

The Valkyries broke through at 12:10 when Levi Bankirer scored his fourth goal of the season to give Converse an early 1-0 advantage. Prosdocimo prevented the deficit from growing, recording saves in the 16th and 35th minutes.

North Greenville's best first-half opportunity on target came from Emmanuel Orihuela in the 23rd minute, but Converse goalkeeper Thiago Ausland made the save. Converse carried its 1-0 lead into halftime after leading in shots 9-3 and holding a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

NGU came out aggressive after the break, eventually scoring the equalizer. Zborovsky found the back of the net at 59:49, scoring his second goal of the season to bring the Trailblazers even at 1-1.

Converse continued to generate opportunities following the tying goal, but Prosdocimo and the North Greenville defense kept the Valkyries off the scoreboard. Prosdocimo made three saves during the second half.

North Greenville produced seven of its 10 shots after halftime, more than doubling its first-half total. Zborovsky finished with two shots and scored on his only attempt on goal. Emilio Galeas recorded two shots with one on target, while Orihuela accounted for NGU's other shot on goal.

Lamont and Nedas Vaivada each finished with two attempts, while Ethan Henderson added a shot.

North Greenville will return to action on Tuesday, October 6th against the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College at Pepsi Stadium.
