Harrogate, TN - North Greenville erased an early deficit and used a big late push to take down Lincoln Memorial 10-8 on Tuesday.
After falling behind 5-0 through four innings, the Trailblazers got on the board in the fifth with a two-run home run from Cooper Noble and an RBI double from Thomas Powell. Lincoln Memorial added one in the sixth, but NGU answered in the seventh when C.J. Dean launched a three-run homer to tie the game at 6-6.
The Trailblazers took control in the eighth, plating three runs on a wild pitch, an RBI single from Landon Peavy, and a sacrifice bunt by Mason Swinney. NGU added an insurance run in the ninth on an RBI groundout from Lane McGaha, which proved crucial as Lincoln Memorial scored twice in the final frame.
Dean led the way with three RBIs, while Noble added two in the comeback effort. Cooper Noble finished 2 – 4 with a pair of runs and two RBI while Thomas Powell was 2 – 5. Kadan Roach earned the win in relief, and Caleb Cox delivered two scoreless innings to help secure the victory.
