The North Greenville Trailblazers fell to the Bulldogs of Barton College with a final score of 79-62 in Wilson, North Carolina. NGU was able to shoot an impressive .490 field goal percentage. However, 24 offensive rebounds by Barton resulted in 22 second chance points. The Bulldogs also led the night in points off turnovers 27-13. After trailing by just one points at the end of the 1st quarter, the Trailblazers put together a successful 2nd quarter to take a six point lead into halftime. The 3rd quarter once again proved to be a struggle for the Trailblazers, however, as the Bulldogs would claim the lead and pull away to lead by nine heading into the 4th quarter. Their momentum would continue as they would outscore North Greenville by eight to end the afternoon with a seventeen points victory.
Austin Johnson led the Trailblazers in points with 13. She also posted 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Ja'sia Booth recorded 10 points and 2 assists.
Quinn Johnston finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
NGU will face the Koalas of Columbia College on Wednesday, January 21st at Hayes Gymnasium.
