The North Greenville Trailblazers secured a 78-75 victory over the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina. After getting off to a slow start and trailing by six, NGU was able to get the offense going to cut the deficit down to two at the end of the 1st quarter. North Greenville would outscore the Wildcats by a point in the 2nd quarter to trail by just one point going into halftime. The 3rd quarter belonged to the Trailblazers as they would outscore JWU 20-13 to lead by heading into the 4th quarter. NGU would open the lead up to double-digits early on in the 4th, but Johnson & Wales would cut the deficit down to three. Free throws would allow NGU to grow the lead back up to seven with less than a minute remaining. The Wildcats would score the final four points, but the Trailblazers would hang on for the three point victory. For the game, NGU shot .491 from the field. Although they were out-rebounded, North Greenville led in second chance points 17-6. Turnovers proved to be an issue for NGU as they would finish with thirty, leading to 28 points off turnovers for the Wildcats.
