Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders captured their second win of the season in a high-scoring affair against the Golden Eagles of the University of Charleston with a final score of 25-17 this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. NGU went on to score a total of twenty-five goals, which ties the program record set last season against Erskine College on March 22, 2021.
Dani O'Meara and
Kaitlin O'Brien posted dominant performances, scoring six goals each. The opening quarter proved to be a competitive one as the Crusaders led 5-4 at the end of one. NGU continued to score in the 2nd, matching their production from the 1st quarter with five more goals to take a 10-6 lead into halftime. North Greenville completely dominated the 3rd quarter, leading in goals 9-3 to take a 19-9 lead. Charleston didn't go down without a fight, at one point cutting the deficit down to five. However, the Crusaders ended the game with the final three goals to go on to win by eight goals.
