Tigerville – North Greenville led late but was unable to hold on as the 2025-2026 season came to a close with a 64 – 62 loss to King University.
The teams battled to a 29 – 29 tie before halftime, mirroring each others scores for the first two periods. The Trailblazers came out fi=ring in the third quarter. NGU went on a pair of runs in the third period an 8 – 0 run which made it 39 – 31 powered by a pair of
Ja'sia Booth lay – ups. Later in the period NGU built the lead to 15 – points when
Maliyiah Mason hit a pair of free throws to make it 53 – 38. The Tornado would chisel the lead to just nine before the final period.
The offense stalled in the final period however as NGU scored just nine points while the Tornado had their best scoring quarter of the night with 20. The Tornado played from behind until the final seconds of the game when a pair of free throws put them up by two. North Greenville had an opportunity to tie the score with five seconds left but a turnover squandered the opportunity.
Janyia Williams led NGU with 14 – points while
Maliyiah Mason and
Jayla Cook both had 12 – points. Mason led NGU with 10 – rebounds.
