The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to hang on for a 65-63 victory against the Patriots of Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. NGU pulled away in the 1st half, leading by as much as nineteen before settling for a nine point lead going into halftime. Francis Marion was able to cut into their deficit. The lead would exchange several times throughout the half. NGU led by three with two minutes remaining. FMU would get several opportunities to score the game-winning shot, including a last-second three pointer that would bounce out of the basket as time expired. Although they trailed in most categories including points off turnovers, they did lead in overall field goal percentage, finishing shooting .434 for the game while the Patriots struggled overall with a .354 percentage.
Savion Brown posted 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
Carter Bobbitt also scored 21 points in addition to 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Jsh Linder neared a double-double with 11 rebounds and 8 points while also providing 2 assists and a block.
North Greenville will face the Braves of UNC Pembroke on Monday, February 23rd at Hayes Gymnasium.
