Second Half Struggles Result in Loss to King

The North Greenville Trailblazers led for the majority of the afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee but ultimately fell to the Tornado of King University with a final score of 75-67. NGU led for fifteen minutes in the first half, going into halftime with a 40-35 lead. The Trailblazers posted a .464 field goal percentage in the half while shooting .444 from three point range. NGU held onto the lead for nearly ten minutes of the second half, but the Tornado would chip into their deficit and went on to tie things up at 50-50. From there, the lead would change several times, but a 7-0 run by King to end the afternoon would decide the outcome as they would go on to win by eight. The Trailblazers struggled in the second half, shooting just .304 from the field and made just two of nine shots from three point territory. NGU also trailed King in second chance points, points off turnovers, and offensive rebounds.

Carter Bobbitt recorded a double-double, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds while also providing an assist and a steal. Jacob Brown also posted a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block. Josh Linder had an impressive day with 9 points, 5 blocks, and a rebound.

NGU will return to action on Saturday, January 10th against the Hawks of Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
