The North Greenville Trailblazers kicked off the 2026 season with a 3-0 loss to the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. NGU led early on to open up set one with a 5-3 lead. However, LMU would take over the set from there, ultimately winning it 25-16. After an even start to set two, the Railsplitters would once again take over from there including a 9-0 run. North Greenville would take three of the final five points, but Lincoln Memorial would easily take the set 25-12. Set three proved to be the most competitive of the match. The Trailblazers found themselves in control late in the set, leading 22-19. However, the Railsplitters would fight back with five straight points to claim the lead, going on to narrowly win the set with a score of 25-23. NGU finished the match with a .098 hitting percentage and tied the Railsplitters with three service aces but trailed in every other category.
Thomas Roper kicked off his season with 8 kills and 4 digs.
Logan Keothavy posted 8 kills, 3 digs, and a block assist.
Logan Taylor provided 19 assists, 5 digs, and a block assist.
North Greenville will return to action on Saturday, January 24th against the Pioneers of Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee.
